Many of you remember them as the No Names, a group started with
Wayne Lassiter, DeLance Dorough, Bernie Cummings and Jimmy Ward.
I remember them best as the BeBops consisting of Wayne Lassiter,
Roswell Stevens and Doug McIntyre. They performed often during
assembly periods and I can remember them breaking into spontaneous
mini concerts between classes, sometimes singing only a phrase or
two of one of the popular songs of the day.
After graduation, as some of you may know, they performed
professionally, playing the night-club circuit for a while.
Actually, by this time Roger Freeman had taken Doug's place in the
group. This group, The Stars, recorded several songs, four of
which are included here. With a sound similar to another
famous group, The Four Freshman, they were quite popular at such hot
night spots as the Domino Lounge in Atlanta, GA.
